Thomas Weeks and Wife Beating

Just read up on Author and Bishop Thomas Weeks pleading guilty for the assault on his wife at religionnewsblog.com. I have read Teach Me How To Love You, and thought it was a good read. That he did this took me by suprise and it certainly goes against what he preaches and writes. An interesting read on this from an atheist viewpoint can be found at daylightatheism.org. I would agree as daylightatheism.org states that evildoers can hide their true motives by claiming they have been 'washed clean by Jesus', if people are gullible. To me being 'washed clean by Jesus', means your sins are forgiven, not that your entire psyche is suddenly transformed on the spot. A person would still need to do appropriate steps, such as make amends for wrongs etc, in their walk with God. Being 'washed clean by Jesus', does not take away free will.
